Bedford + Bowery is operated by New York University's journalism school in collaboration with New York magazine. Local events, businesses, history and crime are among the topics covered in New York's East Village, Lower East side, Williamsburg, Bushwick and Greenpoint. The magazine hosts the website and NYU provides a full-time editor as well as paid interns and freelancers. The site is the successor to a local site operated by NYU and the New York Times, the Local East Village, which operated from 2010-2013.
