Bklyner was formed in 2017 with the merger of a more than half dozen neighborhood news sites sites launched or acquired by Brooklyn community news pioneer Leina Zagore starting in 2013. Bklyner covers covers events and local news in neighborhoods throughout Brooklyn. Previous sites were Ditmas Park Corner, Park Slope Stoop, South Slope News, KensingtonBK as well as Sheepshead Bites and Bensonhurst Bean acquired from Ned Berke in 2014, and Fort Greene Focus acquired from the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism.
