WestportNow

Launched in 2003 by journalist Gordon F. Joseloff, this site was an early pioneer in online local news. During a 16-year career at CBS News, Joseloff was a correspondent, senior producer and bureau chief in New York, Moscow and Tokyo. He earlier was an editor and correspondent for United Press International (UPI) in New York, London, and Moscow. In 2005, he relinquished editorial control of WestportNow.com with his election as First Selectman (Mayor) of Westport, Conn., resuming it in 2013 upon leaving office. Revenue: Advertising

Effective engagement practice

Solid and timely news coverage. We are on scene frequently when others rely on handouts from various agencies, organizations. It is apparent to our average reader that having a 16-year history of covering Westport, we are unmatched in adding depth and background (and file photos) to our news stories.

Revenue challenges

We are often overbooked and unable to provide enough inventory to local advertisers.
